First
Amendment is Oak Hollow Stable's
first born son. This Trakehner cross by
Schubert was Trakehner sport horse Champion on the West Coast at ages
2 and 3. He tied for second at Dressage Under the Oaks at Flintridge
at age 4, 1/2 point below the first place winner. He was second in the
USDF National Horse of the Year placings for First Level horses among
ATA-registered horses, less than a point below first place. He was also
AHSA Zone X Champion at Second Level at the Dressage at the Club show
in Rancho Santa Fe, CA.
At the age of 10, First Amendment started
a new career with Gay and Tate McCall. He has been an incredibly quick
study and progressed from single 2' cross rails to full courses of 3'6"
with 3' spreads, one-jump bounces, quick turns and clean changes-- all
in less than a year's time. He loves his work and always gives it his
best. He started his new show career this year in the jumper divisions.
Even in his first show he came away with 3 blues and he ended the year
by completing a tight and technically difficult 3'6" open course taking
his two last blues of the year (and one red). His first cross country
course in competition will occur in February of next year at RamTap.
He has completed the novice course in schooling at CTETA where he maneuvered
a lot of "first time" jumps like water and "cliffs". He has made us
all very proud at his courage and willingness to work and to trust us
to such a degree.
First
Amendment is a beautiful, proud and talented individual with a soft
kind eye who is much loved and appreciated. He leaves a fan club behind
him everywhere he goes. People just don't forget him.
First Amendment has been sold to Gretchen Lasater and her daughter Alma.
Congratulations!
